The venue can seat up to 1 250 delegates cinema style and banquet up to 850 delegates at round tables. The Buttress boasts a floor area of 1200 m² of usable area and has a full kitchen , bar and storage areas adjoining the venue.
New BUFFET AND DINING EXTENSION
Our newly rebuilt buffet can feed over 700 people with little queuing. Our live cooking capacity has been increased 4 fold with our total appliance capacity being increased 3 fold. This alleviates congestion, particularly at the live cooking stations and is well designed to create easy flow of guest or delegates.

Aerial Cableway
The Harties Cableway is a fun and original venue for special functions. Our facilities can cater for a variety of events, including weddings, conferences, matric dances and smaller events, such as an especially romantic date (many have chosen to propose atop the mountain surrounded by breathtaking views).
Although the Harties Cableway usually closes before sunset, for special events on weekends, arrangements can be made for it to remain operating, especially for your function so that guests can enjoy the sun’s last rays.
The main functions venue is exquisite, and no detail has been overlooked. There is a reception area where guests are greeted with welcome drinks, while the venue has a wraparound balcony so that the views can be enjoyed. The main venue can seat 150 people, or accommodate 200 people for a cocktail function. The venue is able to be split into two rooms for smaller functions.
The Harties Cableway is an adventure property with one of the only cableways in South Africa – the other being Table Mountain.
Swiss designed and installed gondolas setting a maximum of six guests transfer visitors to the top of the mountain. The very scenic trip takes about six minutes, several express eateries serving Pizzas, Hamburgers, Salads, Platters, Grills and Ice Cream await you at the top of the mountain.
The Cableway is 2400 meters (2.4km), with a height above sea level of 1985 meters (1.98km) and the altitude from the base station is 345 meters.
