Mongena Game Lodge
The 4 star Mongena Game Lodge is conveniently situated 55 km from Pretoria on the N1 in the malaria-free north western section of the Big 5 Dinokeng Game Reserve, a mere 30 minutes’ drive from Pretoria. Lions and elephant were recently introduced into the 18,500 ha game reserve with buffalo to follow soon making it a truly big five game reserve within the borders of the Gauteng province.
The lodge has 25 air-conditioned, tastefully furnished rooms all with private bathroom and/or shower facilities accommodating a total of 62 guests. All chalets are well positioned amidst rolling lawns and indigenous landscaping in close proximity to the gourmet Kingfisher restaurant, pool and bar area. We are a wheelchair friendly lodge with a paraplegic room and facilities available.
Mongena boasts a choice of 4 air-conditioned conference venues accommodating from 10 to 90 delegates. All the venues have overhead projectors with sound, flipcharts, white boards and table-top power points for laptops. Bateleur conference room can seat 60 schoolroom style, 90 cinema style and 80 banqueting style. The enchanting Woodlands and Malachite boardrooms seating 10 and 14 delegates respectively overlook the small lake at the main lodge and into the plains of the Dinokeng Game Reserve, with Tshukudu seating 20 schoolroom style and 14 u-shape. The exclusive boathouse boma venue facility (max 150 people) situated on our own 28 ha dam is ideal for boma conference dinners and other events. Romantic weddings with a capacity of 150 as well as exquisite medieval theme and gala dinners are staged in the chapel.
We offer a wide variety of teambuilding activities to suit your clients’ specific needs. Game drives and sunset cruises on Mongena’s private lake are popular activities at Mongena.
